Oh hi, I’m Meranda.
I’m the hands and heart behind Merc Pottery.
I’m a wife, a mom to two wonderful boys, a gardener, and someone who finds meaning in the little things—a warm mug, the return of the sunshine after a long northern winter, or the quiet work happening beneath the soil.
Pottery found me during a season when I needed it most. After being diagnosed with PTSD and living with chronic migraines, I felt disconnected from myself. For my birthday, my grandma gifted me a beginner pottery class (with a little nudge from my husband), and somewhere between the spinning wheel and the clay-covered hands, I began to feel like myself again.
I never looked back.
What began as healing slowly became Merc Pottery—a small home studio where every piece is thoughtfully made by hand.
I create functional pottery that invites you to slow down. Mugs for quiet mornings. Bowls for shared meals. Vases that celebrate the changing seasons. I love designing pieces that are warm, earthy, a little groovy, and full of character—pieces that feel like they have a story to tell.
Because I think the best handmade pottery carries more than coffee or flowers.
It carries moments.
The conversations around the table.
The deep breath before the day begins.
The comfort of familiar rituals.
The chapters of our lives that quietly unfold over time.
Every piece is made in my little home studio (once upon a time, it was my walk-in closet!) and bears the marks of the hands that made it. No two are exactly alike, and I wouldn’t want them to be.
Thank you for being here and for choosing handmade. It means more than you know.
I hope something you find here becomes part of your story, too.
